The present investigation was carried out from April 2002 to January 2003 in respect of pre-monsoon, monsoon and post monsoon periods to evaluate the status of water quality of the Shitalaklvya river, Bangladesh. Some physio-chemical parameters such as water depth, air and water temperature, transparency, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Ammonia (NH3) Hydrogen ion concentrations (PH), Nitrite (NO2), Carbon-di-Oxide (CO2), Alkalinity, Hardness, Thermal conductivity, Bio-chemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) were observed.Significant seasonal variation was observed in water depth, transparency, DO, NH3, NO2, Conductivity, BOD and COD of water.
